Aitolus (son of Endymion)
Aitolus ( Greek Αἰτωλός ) is in Greek mythology the son of Endymion , king of Elis .
In order to determine his successor, his father had a race between his sons Paion , Aitolus and Epeios . Epeios emerged victorious from this race.
As a result of a self-inflicted accident with a fatal outcome, Aitolus was banished from Elis. He went to Curetia and married Pronoe there . With this he had the two sons Pleuron and Kalydon .
