Aja (mythology)
Aja (also Aia, Anunitu ) is a goddess of the Mesopotamian religion.
She is the wife of the sun god Šamaš . Their children are the dream gods Mamu and Ziqiqu . Aja was later equated with the goddess Antum (also Antu ). This was originally a Semitic deity created for the Akkadian god Anu (the -t- grammatically symbolizes the feminine form of Akkadian Anum, i.e. the feminine counterpart to heaven, earth). In the Sumerian religion , An was accordingly married to Ki, the "earth" (Greek Gaa ). Thus one can attribute Antum to the earthly deities.
