Ajatar

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ajatar (also Ajattara or Aijo ) is an evil forest spirit in the shape of a dragon in Finnish mythology . It is said that Ajatar is the mother of the devil, spreads disease and disease, and breastfeeds snakes . Everyone who looks at them gets sick themselves.

Ajatar is comparable to Aitvaras from Baltic mythology and Tiamat from Babylonian mythology .

According to other traditions, Ajatara is a bewitchingly beautiful, female guardian spirit who has the male gods at his feet. She is said to be wrapped in a transparent dress made of will-o'-the-wisps and to have the most enchanting smile in heaven.
