Academy of German Music Authors

The winners and nominees of the German Music Author's Award come together in the Academy of German Music Authors (ADMA) .

The Akademie Deutscher Musikautoren is an interest group that advocates the interests of musicians in Germany. It promotes the exchange between artists of all musical styles. As a representative of composers and lyricists, she is of particular importance within GEMA and towards the public.

The GEMA Supervisory Board and Executive Board appointed the Academy of German Music Authors in 2012. The current membership is around 200. The chairman is Enjott Schneider . The academy meets at least once a year. The Academy's tasks and duties are regulated by statute.

The academy's task is also to select the jury for the German Music Author Award. Since 2009, music authors have honored composers and lyricists for their outstanding work with this award .

The academy's logo is a white, trimmed treble clef in a red square. The message of the logo is: "Give the music a framework". The treble clef is one of the most famous musical symbols and applies to all genres of music or musicians alike.

Members of the academy are entitled to vote

  • all winners and all nominees of the German Music Author Award
  • the author representatives on the GEMA Supervisory Board (10 members and up to four deputy members)
