Akademik Fyodorov Canyon

The Akademik Fyodorow Canyon is a deep sea trench in the Antarctic Weddell Sea . It is named at the suggestion of the surveyor and glaciologist Heinrich Hinze from the Alfred Wegener Institute after the Akademik Fjodorow ( Russian Академик Фёдоров ), a Russian research vessel that operated in the Weddell Sea in 1989.
