Acacia fiber
Acacia fibers are made from the dried milky sap of the acacia . Chemically, it is arabinogalactan . Acacia fibers, which have no flavor of their own , are used in the food industry as a filler and binder , and in beverages or food as dietary fiber . In the vegan and vegetarian diet it can be used as a substitute for animal binders. It is also sold as a dietary supplement in health food stores.
A bifidogenic effect has been demonstrated in clinical tests .
Manufacturing
In the production of acacia fibers, the tree, which is native to the Sahel zone and Australia, is tapped through a cut or a hole. The milky juice that escapes is collected, cleaned, dried and ground.
