Akella is a developer and publisher of computer and video games based in Moscow , Russia . Akella was founded in 1995 . The company consists of five in-house development teams, a publishing department, a distribution department, a localization department and a quality assurance department .

Akella was the first studio to officially develop and launch a computer game in Russia. With games like Sea Dogs and Pirates of the Caribbean, they helped the Eastern European games market to achieve high recognition and popularity. This is one of the reasons why Akella has been named the best localizer in Russia several times.
