The Akgedik dam ( Turkish Akgedik Barajı ) is located 3 km northeast of Milas in the southwest Turkish province of Muğla on the Sarıçay river .
The Akgedik dam was built in 1995-2009 as a rock embankment dam with a clay core . It is operated by the state water authority DSİ and is used for irrigation . The dam is 48 m high and has a volume of 1,468,000 m³. The associated reservoir covers an area of 1.45 km² and has a storage volume of 31 million m³. The dam is designed for the irrigation of an area of 2091 ha. Upstream on the Sarıçay is the Geyik Dam .
