The Akhasan Dam ( Akhasan Barajı in Turkish ) is located 10 km southwest of the city of Çerkeş in the northern Turkish province of Çankırı .
The Akhasan Dam was built in 1996-2009 on Elma Deresi, a left tributary of the Çerkeş Çayı . The dam is mainly used to irrigate an area of 2253 hectares. The dam is a sand-gravel embankment with a clay core . The dam height above the valley floor is 35.8 m. The dam volume is 1.056 million m³. The reservoir covers an area of 1.56 km² with normal damming. The storage volume is 16.5 million m³.
