Akiko Baba
Akiko Baba ( Japanese 馬 場 あ き 子 , Baba Akiko ; born January 28, 1928 in Tokyo ) is a Japanese writer and literary scholar.
Baba studied classical Japanese literature. She has published studies on medieval Japanese Noh -Schauspiel, for Tanka -Lyrik, the role of women in Japanese literature history and the figure of the devil in Japanese literature.
In addition, she wrote modern no-drama herself, which were performed at the National Theater in Tokyo, among other places, and emerged as the author of Tanka. A selection of her poems from 1955 to 1998 in English translation was published in 1999 under the title Heavenly Maiden Tanka .
