Accordant

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An accordant is generally a worker who works in a piecework.

In the German-Swiss language area, this expression is used to describe a small business owner.

In the 19th century, accordants appeared as subcontractors in the large construction projects, in which they won the bid for sub-projects and construction phases through competitive offers. They contracted foreign workers from third countries to carry it out. In the corresponding service agreements of this time , the term pieceworker appears again and again where the standard term contractor is expected .
