Lothar Andreas Barth (born December 20, 1970 in Stuttgart ) is a German local politician from Baden-Württemberg . From 2003 to 2011 he was Lord Mayor of the large district town of Bad Mergentheim in the Main-Tauber district . From 2012 to 2015 he was assistant to the city of Aachen for organization and personnel . Since October 2015, Barth has been Plant Manager Finances & Administration at the residual waste power plant in Böblingen.

Life

After graduating from high school , Barth studied administrative science at the University of Konstanz from 1990 to 1995 and graduated with a diploma. Then he was a trainee lawyer. a. in the State Chancellery of Lower Saxony and the City of Phoenix (USA). From 1998 he was, among other things, personal advisor to the mayor of the city of Esslingen am Neckar and group controller before he became head of the main and personnel office of the city of Remseck am Neckar in 2001 . As a part-time job, Barth has held a teaching position for management in public administration at the Ludwigsburg University of Public Administration and Finance since 2001 . In 2004 Barth received his doctorate as Dr. rer. pole. on the subject The institutional trialism on the central administrative authority. The tension between the Stuttgart Regional Council, the Stuttgart Region Association and the districts . Barth also published essays on mainly local political issues in various specialist publishers .

In the spring of 2003, Barth ran for the mayoral election in Bad Mergentheim and was elected to succeed Uwe Hülsmann. He took office on May 1st. In November 2009 Lothar Barth was elected to the Committee for Economy and the European Internal Market of the German Association of Cities . In the mayoral election in 2011, Lothar Barth lost to his competitor Udo Glatthaar with 48.85% in the second ballot after his re-election was not supported by any of the parliamentary groups represented in the municipal council. His term of office as Lord Mayor ended on April 30, 2011. On September 14, 2011, Barth was elected Personnel and Organization Secretary of the City of Aachen . Barth was also managing director of Aachener Stadion Beteiligungs GmbH since the city of Aachen acquired the Tivoli Stadium on January 28, 2015 .

In October 2015, Barth was appointed Plant Manager Finances & Administration of the RBB Residual Waste Power Plant Böblingen. Since 2018 he has been chairman of the Weilimdorf urban group of the FDP .

Barth is married and has three sons.
