Akoko , Arigidi or North Akoko is a language spoken by around 50,000 people in southwestern Nigeria in the Ondo State . Akoko forms a separate subunit of the Akokoid languages of West Benue Congo , a branch of the Benue Congo that belongs to the Niger Congo .

Akoko is a dialect cluster made up of the dialects Oyin, Uro, Arigidi (a main dialect after which the language is alternatively designated), Erusus, Ojo, Udo, Afa, Oger, Aje, Ese and Igasi. Some researchers consider these dialects as separate languages.
