Akron Art Museum

The Akron Art Museum is an art museum in Akron , Ohio that opened in 1922 .

Since 1970 the museum has focused on modern art after 1850. The museum owns 3,000 permanent objects. It has 50,000 visitors a year.

The museum building was rebuilt by Coop Himmelb (l) au for 20 million US dollars and reopened from July 7th to 17th, 2007. In 2005 Coop Himmelb (l) au received the American Architecture Award for the design .
