Action Humane School

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Aktion Humane Schule eV was founded in 1974 by the theology professor Walter Leibrecht out of concern about a student who committed suicide . As a citizens' movement, the association, based in Ingersheim (Neckar), advocates more humanity in schools. The association has a scientific advisory board in which 19 professors and doctors are currently represented. The association regularly takes a position on current issues (spelling reform, violence in schools, censorship, etc.) in press releases. The association works independently, non-partisan and non-denominational as a registered association and serves directly charitable purposes. He feels connected to the Child Protection Association and the German Children and Youth Foundation .

The AHS is represented in more than 10 federal states. In addition to many other current areas, she focuses on the following topics:

  • Longer learning together (especially with primary school children)
  • humane performance appraisal
  • Problems with school anxiety
  • School bullying
  • Bullying at the adult level (including teachers)
  • Student participation in decision-making processes within education and schools

Especially on the days before the certificates are issued , the AHS draws attention to the possibilities of overcoming problems in this context in schools (posters) and on the radio. The association often works with municipal institutions that pursue the same goals and forms a lobby with them in order to make demands clear at the state level.
