Al-Hayat ( Arabic الحياة al-Ḥayāt  'Das Leben') is a pan- Arabic and western- oriented daily newspaper in the Arab region . She appears in London.

history

The newspaper was founded in 1988 by Jemil Mrowa and Adel Bishtawi in Beirut and sold to the Saudi crown prince Sultan al-Saud during the Lebanese civil war in 1990 . Its headquarters are in Saudi Arabia . With a circulation of almost 170,000 copies, it is one of the largest Arabic-language newspapers in the world . It has an office in Riyadh and is also a local edition in Saudi Arabia.

Content

Al-Hayat is a preferred platform for left or liberal intellectuals . In August 2007, the newspaper was temporarily banned by the Saudi government for criticizing the Saud royal family and disregarding instructions from the Ministry of Information and Culture.
