The al-Hilal Stadium ( Arabic إستاد الهلال) is a stadium used for various purposes in the Sudanese city of Omdurman .
It is mainly used to host football matches and is the official home of the Sudanese football club al-Hilal Khartoum .
The stadium was completed on December 4, 1965 and has a capacity of 45,000 spectators. At the opening ceremony, al-Hilal played against the Ghanaian national soccer team . The game ended in a draw 1: 1.
The African Nations Cup 2011 took place in the stadium, among other places.
