al-Mihdhar mosque
The al-Mihdhar Mosque ( Arabic مسجد المحضار Masjid al-Mihdhar , DMG Masǧid al-Miḥḍār ) is a famous Yemeni mosque in Tarim , Wadi Hadramaut . Its minaret is the symbol of the city. Its name comes from Imam Omar al-Mihdhar ( Arabic عمر المحضار) who lived in the 15th century. In more recent times it has been rebuilt.
Your newly added white square mud bricks - minaret is 53 meters, the highest in Yemen. It was built by Awad Salman Afif al-Tarimi based on a design by the poet Abu Bakr bin Schihab (d. 1931) .
