Al Rajhi Bank Saudi Arabia ( AlRajhiBank ; Arabic مصرف الراجحي, DMG Maṣrif ar-Rāǧiḥī ) is a Saudi Arabian credit institution with headquarters in Riyadh .

The founder of the company is the Saudi multibillionaire Sulaiman bin Abd al-Aziz ar-Radschihi . The company is currently run by his four sons.

history

In 1978 the bank was known as Al Rajhi Trading and Exchange Corporation . In 1987, she was in a Decree of the King of Saudi Arabia Aktiengesellschaft converted and was named Al-Rajhi Banking and Investment Corp . Since February 2006 it has been operating under the short name Al-Rajhi Bank . In October 2006, international business activities began with a subsidiary in Malaysia .

The company has around 7,600 employees (as of 2011). In terms of equity, the credit institution is the largest Islamic bank in the world . It has 500 branches in Saudi Arabia. 100 branches are expressly set up for women. There are 24 branches in Malaysia, and there are plans to expand activities in Jordan and Kuwait .
