Alan Chambers

Alan Chambers (born February 21, 1972 ) is an American clergyman of the Assemblies of God Church .

Life

Chambers studied Christian theology. He became a minister in the Assemblies of God and led the Calvary Assembly of God church in Orlando , Florida . As the last president, he headed the US organization Exodus International, which was dissolved in 2013 .

In 2013, he and the board of Exodus International dissolved this organization because they had come to the conclusion that healing services for homosexual people were harmful and dangerous. He apologized on behalf of the organization for the suffering many homosexual people had suffered through Exodus International in the previous decades. Chambers is married with two adopted children.
