Alan D. Martin

Alan Douglas Martin (* 1937 ) is a British elementary particle physicist. He was a professor at Durham University .

Among other things, Martin carried out research at DESY on perturbative quantum chromodynamics ( Parton distribution functions) in the analysis of the experiments carried out there on the Hera Ring in the 1990s on the internal structure of the proton.

In 2007 he received the Max Born Prize for his pioneering work on the strong interaction, in particular for his theoretical work on the internal structure of the proton .
