Albanians

The Albanians were a group of Italian Cathars ( ecclesia Albanensium ) whose occurrence can be traced from the second half of the 12th century to the last quarter of the 13th century. Its main distribution area was Lombardy . Their name either goes back to the place Albano , east of Brescia , or was derived from a hierarch named Albanus .
