Albertus Siculus

Albertus Siculus (* probably around 1240 in Trapani , † around 1307 in Messina ) is one of the saints of the Roman Catholic Church .
He was born to distinguished parents and joined the Carmelite order as a boy . Around 1296 he became a religious provincial in Sicily . According to legend, he performed miracles as a preacher and his exorcism on a girl possessed by the devil caused many Sicilians to return to their faith. In 1474 he was canonized .
Albertus Siculus is the patron saint of Trapani and Messina, one of the patron saints of Palermo and the patron saint of the coopers . He is called in case of obsession, birth problems, infertility and fever. He is depicted with a cross and a chained devil. His feast day is August 7th.
