Alda the elder

Alda ("the elder", also "Hilda" because of her Frankish descent; * around 910, † before 932) came from Franconia and was Queen of Italy.

Alda married Hugo of Arles , King of Italy , before 926 . It was called ex Francorum genere Teutonicorum and came to Italy from Franconia. She brought the chaplain Gerlannus with her to the south and made sure that he got his own diocese.
