Alex Bongrain

Alex Bongrain (born March 16, 1952 in Neuilly-sur-Seine ) is a French entrepreneur, CEO of Savencia Fromage & Dairy since 2004 (Bongrain SA until 2015).

Life

Bongrain graduated from the Wharton School and joined the then Bongrain company founded by his father in 1980, originally a family-run cheese factory in Lorraine . In 1997 he became a member of the board of directors , in 2001 a member of the supervisory board and its chairman in 2003, before assuming the position of CEO in 2004 as the majority shareholder. In 2012, Alex Bongrain and his family ranked 82nd among the 100 richest families in France with a fortune of 530 million euros. Bongrain was also suspected of having transferred some of his assets to Panama with the intention of saving taxes.

Takeover of Belebey in Bashkortostan

On October 24, 2017, he visited the Russian Republic of Bashkortostan and met the incumbent President Rustem Khamitov there . The purpose of his visit was the envisaged takeover of “Belebey”, a cheese dairy known nationwide in Russia with 620 employees and an annual output of 25,000 tons of dairy products.
