Alex Woolf

Alex Woolf (* 1963 ) is a Medievalist at the University of St. Andrews .

He specializes in the history of the British Isles and Scandinavia in the early Middle Ages, particularly their relationships with the populations of Wales and Scotland . He wrote the second book of the New Edinburgh History of Scotland, which covers the period between 789 and 1070. He later received the 2008 Saltire Society Award for "History Book of the Year".
