Alexander Freund (* 1993 ) is a German television actor .

Freund came to television as an amateur actor . He gained fame as a performer in the scripted reality series Berlin - Day & Night . Since 2011, Freund has played the role of Florian "Schmidti" Schmidt, Karsten Rätze's best friend ("Krätze"). He is on the main cast of the series. He worked in the series a. a. as an employee of a car wash and was the owner of the houseboat . His role image in the series is that of a "lovable chaotic". Freund's role is a popular series character among fans.

From autumn 2014, Freund was initially absent from the series for several months. In early 2015, Freund announced on his Facebook page that he was leaving the series after more than three years in which he played the character "Schmidti"; he justified this with the need for a "break". However, he later returned to the series. In episode 2223 (first broadcast: June 29, 2020) the characters "Jade" and "Schmidti" married and went on their honeymoon , an exit is not yet certain.
