Alexander Grossman

Alexander Grossman (Hungarian: Grossman Sándor) (born March 3, 1909 in Pusztaszomolló near Miskolc in Northern Hungary ; † 2003 ) was a Swiss journalist and writer .

Alexander Grossman founded the youth organization Blau-Weiss at the age of 16 , co-founded the Hungarian Hashomer Hazair , then editor of the weekly newspapers Der Jude and Der Weg . He was arrested by the Gestapo in June 1944 and released on September 29, 1944. In the meantime, he lost his entire family and loved ones in deportation .

In Carl Lutz 's rescue operations, he had the status of a Swiss diplomat and was able to move freely in Hungary, and all the threads of the Jewish organizations came together with him.

In 1949 Alexander Grossman left Budapest . From 1951 to 1962 he was editor of the magazine Die Zukunft .
