history

Alexianer GmbH was founded on April 1st, 2009 as a holding company. It emerged from the merger of the Alexianer Beteiligungs- und Verwaltungsgesellschaft mbH and the Gesellschaft der Alexianerbrüder mbH. Until then, the two supporting companies had two different, independent owners - the religious order of the Alexian Brothers of the Order Province of Neuss and the Order of the Alexian Brothers of the Order of Aachen. These two provinces are now merged into the German St. Alexius Province with headquarters in Münster.

On January 31, 2013, the religious order of the Alexianerbrüder founded a church foundation with legal capacity under civil law, which has been the sponsor of the Alexianer GmbH since then.
