Alfred Leurquin

Emile Alfred Leurquin (born February 2, 1876 in Corroy-le-Grand , † July 26, 1951 in Wavre ) was a Belgian liberal politician.

Leurquin was one of six children of Nestor Leurquin (1849-1909) and Sidonie Severin (1849-1909). He graduated as an agricultural engineer and then became a farmer.

In 1926 he was elected to Wavre City Council and was Mayor of the city from 1927 to 1949 (or until his death). From 1925 to 1946 he was a member of the Senate .

A square in Wavre was named after him.
