Alfred Spindler (politician)

Alfred Spindler (born June 24, 1906 in Zwickau ; † October 5, 1975 ) was a German politician ( KPD ). From 1950 to 1954 he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

After finishing primary school , Alfred Spindler worked as a miner . He had been a union member since 1923 and had already joined the KPD during the Weimar Republic . After the National Socialists came to power in 1933 and the KPD was banned, he was involved in illegal activities against the Nazi regime until his arrest in 1934. He remained in custody until 1940. After the Second World War, he joined the IG Bergbau trade union and became chairman of the works council .

In the 1950 election, Spindler was elected to the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament via the KPD state list; he was a member of parliament from July 5, 1950 to July 4, 1954.
