Alfusainey Ceesay ran as a candidate for the United Democratic Party (UDP) in the 2017 parliamentary elections in the Sami constituency in the Janjanbureh Administrative Region . With 49.22% he was able to win the constituency before Baboucarr Boye (GDC) for himself.
