Aliança Povo Unido
The Aliança Povo Unido (German: Alliance United People) was an electoral alliance of the Portuguese Communist Party ( Partido Comunista Português [PCP]) with the Portuguese Democratic Movement ( Movimento Democrático Português - Comissão Democrática Eleitoral [MDP / CDE]).
Aliança Povo Unido (APU) was founded in 1978. In 1983 she joined the Portuguese Green Party ( Partido Ecologista Os Verdes ) founded a year earlier . In 1987 the APU dissolved. The electoral alliance no longer ran together in the parliamentary elections of the same year.

- Parliamentary election 1979 : 18.8% (47 seats)
- Parliamentary election 1980 : 16.8% (41 seats)
- Parliamentary election 1983 : 18.1% (44 seats)
- Parliamentary election 1985 : 15.5% (38 seats)
