Alibiphonomat

The Alibiphonomat was one of the first telephone answering machines . It came onto the market in 1957, manufactured by the Willy Müller company .

It consisted of two parts:

  • a magnetic disk device that could be connected to the telephone and that passed on a previously recorded text to the caller, which could be re-recorded at any time
  • a "base" that was connected to the magnetic disk device by means of two plugs and screws. A tape recorder could be connected to this base , which recorded the messages of the callers.

Later models were u. a. manufactured by the Zettler company (see illustration) and used magnetic tapes .
