Alice Wong

Alice Wong (* 1974 ) is an activist of the disability movement in San Francisco .

Life

Alice Wong is the founder and coordinator of the Disability Visibility Project (DVP). Together with StoryCorps, the DVP collects the oral history of people with disabilities in the USA . The DVP was founded on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act .

Wong serves on the advisory board of APIDC, Asians and Pacific Islanders with Disabilities of California and is a member of the National Council on Disability .

In 2015, Wong attended a reception at the White House using telerobotics .

Wong has spinal muscular atrophy .
