Alka Patel

Alka Patel is an art historian and associate professor at the University of California, Irvine .

Life

Patel received her BA from Mount Holyoke College and her PhD from Harvard University. Her research focuses on South Asia and its connections to Iran and Central Asia on overland and maritime networks. She further delves into the Islamic history of the Maghreb and the Islamic diaspora in the New World.
