Alkandros (son of Munichos)
Alkandros ( ancient Greek Ἄλκανδρος ) is in Greek mythology a son of the Molossian king Munichos and the Lelante .
Like his father, Alkandros is a seer , and he lives in their parents' castle together with his siblings Megaletor , Philaios and Hyperippe . When robbers set the castle on fire, the inhabitants are saved by Zeus because of their piety by turning them into different birds, while he turns Alkandros into a wren .
Because of the mythological figure of his father, it seems possible that Alkandros is related to Alkandros , who appears with the healing gods, and that the story of the metamorphosis is only a late reinterpretation of the myth.
