The Allameh-Tabataba'i University (ATU) in Tehran is a public university . The university is named after the influential Iranian- Islamic philosopher and Shiite cleric Ayatollah Allameh Tabatabai . The university is the largest specialized public university in the humanities and social sciences in Iran.

Allameh Tabataba'i University was founded in 1950 and is located in the center of Tehran. The facility is co-active and leads to Bachelor, Master and PhD degrees as well as Iranian diploma exams.
