Allegro Brillante op.75

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Allegro Brillante op. 75 is the first movement of the Piano Concerto No. 3 in E flat major by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky , published by Pyotr Jurgenson in Moscow .

Tchaikovsky designed the concert in 1893 from the drafts of a discarded symphony in E flat major (1892) parallel to work on the sixth symphony Pathétique . The entire concert is available in the form of sketches and a fair copy for two pianos. Tchaikovsky was only able to orchestrate the first movement of the concerto . The instrumentation of Andante & Finale op. 79 comes from Sergei Taneyev , who published the two movements separately from the first in the publishing house of Mitrofan Petrovich Beljajew .
