General music theory

The general music theory forms a portion of the music teaching for teaching basic skills within the musical training; it is also understood as "elementary teaching".

Various textbooks on general music theory have been published for music lessons and other music pedagogical purposes , which deal with the introduction to central areas of music and the relevant rules and conventions of notation studies. This teaching content mainly includes the notation system, notation, measure, tempo, intervals, keys, scales and pitch. The weighting of the individual areas in the sometimes very different textbooks is different.
