Church of the Nativity of All Saints Mother of God in Dimitrovgrad

The Orthodox Church for the Birth of All Saints Mother of God in Dimitrovgrad (then Zaribrod ) was built in 1894. Its iconostasis was carved out of cherry wood by students of the Samokov Art School and is considered unique in today's Serbia .

After the Russo-Ottoman War of 1877/78 , the Peace of San Stefano and the Berlin Congress , Zaribrod became part of the Principality of Bulgaria in 1878 and the center of an administrative district of the same name in which there was no school or church building. After the school was completed, the local council decided on July 15, 1888 to set up a commission to build a church. Two years later the Bulgarian Ministry of Religions transferred 10,000 leva and a year later another 5,000 leva for the construction. In 1894 the church was completed and consecrated.
