Allianz - anonymous society for mining and smelting operations near Stolberg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The alliance - anonymous company for mining and ironworks near Stolberg emerged in 1851 with significant participation of French capital from KG Bredt & Co. , whose main participants were the government councilor Jacob Bredt and the cloth manufacturer AW Stoltenhoff. The alliance owned the mines " Satisfaction ", "Wolfeter Hope" and " Albert ", held the main share in the mining field Büsbacherberg-Brockenberg as well as small shares in the " Erzgrube Breinigerberg " and operated the lead smelter Luzilia in Büsbach and the zinc smelter Steinfurt in Eschweiler .

The alliance disbanded in 1856 due to poor profitability, as it had expanded the “Büsbacherberg-Brockenberg” ore mine at high financial expense, but the ore funds that were opened up hardly proved to be eligible for funding. After the dissolution, the majority of the mine property came to the Eschweiler Gesellschaft and Stolberger Gesellschaft via a few detours . The zinc works in Steinfurt was operated by the Badische Zink-Gesellschaft zu Mannheim until 1859 .
