The Allianz Private Health Insurance -Aktiengesellschaft ( APKV ) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Allianz Germany AG , based in Munich . There is a domination and profit transfer agreement with Allianz SE in the personal insurance business area through Allianz Deutschland, which also includes Allianz Lebensversicherungs-Aktiengesellschaft .

history
Founded in 1925 as Gedevag Gemeinnützige Deutsche Versicherungs-Aktiengesellschaft in Berlin. After several takeovers, on October 1, 1987, it was renamed Vereinte Krankenversicherung Aktiengesellschaft (short Vereinte Kranken or VK ) analogous to the Vereinte Versicherung group . It was approved as a private health insurance by the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority on January 1, 1988. Until December 31, 1994, the owner of Vereinte was Swiss Re . On May 1, 1995, this was sold to Allianz Aktiengesellschaft, today Allianz SE, and in 2003 it was renamed Allianz Private Krankenversicherungs-Aktiengesellschaft .
