Alluwamna

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Alluwamna was a Hittite great king who, according to the middle chronology, at the turn of the 16th to the 15th century BC. Ruled.

Alluwamna was the son-in-law of the Great King Telipinu and was appointed by him as his successor. The circumstances of the succession are uncertain. It is likely that Taḫurwaili usurped the throne after Telipinus' death and was later overthrown by Alluwamna. However, Alluwamna could also have become king first and been eliminated by Taḫurwaili. Otherwise nothing is known about Alluwamna.
