Ally Blake

Ally Blake (* in Queensland , Australia) is an Australian writer who specializes in romance and family novels.

life and work

Blake was in a small town in the outback of Queensland born. She attended St Peters Lutheran College in Brisbane . At the University of Queensland she obtained a Bachelor of Arts with a Double English Major (English studies with permission to teach).

After graduating from college, she worked as a professional cheerleader for the Brisbane Broncos and Gold Coast Rollers . She was a professional dancer for The Footy Show on Channel 9 in Brisbane. She was Secretary of the Australian Cinematographers Society in Queensland for two years . Blake married in Las Vegas in 2000 . She lives in Melbourne and Brisbane with her husband and three children .

2003 Blake's first novel "appeared The Wedding Wish " branded Mills & Boon of the publishing house Harlequin Enterprises . The book was recognized as best debut by the specialist magazine Romantic Times 2004. Since then, 16 novels have been published under the Harlequin Romance and Modern Heat brands . In 2007 Blake was nominated for the HOLT Medal (Honoring Outstanding Literary Talent) for the best traditional romance novel in 2006. Blake has sold over 1 million books in over 25 countries to date. She also designs websites for romance and family novelists, including Liz Fielding , Lucy Gordon and Trish Wylie .
