Almaza is a Lebanese beer brewery based in Beirut .

history

The brewery was founded in 1933 by the Jabre family during the French mandate. The main brand, Almaza Pilsener , which is brewed from barley, corn and hops, quickly became the best-selling beer in the country. The Dutch brewery company Heineken has held a majority share in the company since 2002 . After taking over the Lebanese competitor brand Laziza two years later, the company's products made up around 70% of the annual beer sales in Lebanon.

Products

In addition to its own brands, the brewery produces the Amstel , Desperados and Laziza brands for the Lebanese market on behalf of the parent company .
