The Alpamare in Pfäffikon in Switzerland is a covered adventure pool . It was the first of its kind in Switzerland. The swimming pool area is 25,000 m² and has twelve water slides with a total length of 2.1 km as well as a wave, bubble, iodine-brine and free-river pool. There was a cooperation in the development of slides with the pool of the same name in Bad Tölz .

history

The Alpamare opened on June 14, 1977 and quickly developed into the largest covered water park in Europe at the time. In 1985, the Rio-Mare river swimming pool was put into operation. The first Alpabob facility followed in 1986, followed by four water slides with a total length of 500 meters.

In 1991 and 1999 the Alpamare was entered in the Guinness Book of Records . In 1998 the slide Thriller was opened, in 1999 the "Balla Balla", in 2004 the "Tornado". Between 2005 and 2007 investments were made in the renovation of the entire amusement park. There were also new offers in the wellness area , in 2008 the “IceXpress” slide and in 2012 the “KingCone” slide. In 2018 the “Jungle Run” slide opened, consisting of two lanes and thus enabling a race.

In 1999 the Alpamare was sold by its owner to the Spanish Aspro Ocio Group. With 31 operations in seven European countries, the Aspro Group is the third largest operator of water and amusement parks in Europe.
