Alpenland GS 15 (YOC 1951)

Alpenland was a German manufacturer of tractors based in Wolfratshausen . The company traded under the name Bayerische Landmaschinen- und Autovermietung GmbH.

history

The first tractor was developed in 1948 by the engineer Kurt Schröter, who already ran a company in Wechmar in the 1930s for the production of towing devices for farm wagons . In 1945 the company moved to Munich , and in 1948 to Wolfratshausen.

The vehicles developed by Alpenland were conversions of decommissioned US jeeps.

Although the tractors proved their worth due to their pulling and braking power, especially on extreme slopes, they were too expensive. In 1959 the company was liquidated and production ended.
