The radiant of the Alpha-Monocerotiden meteor shower is located approx. 5 ° south-east of Prokyon . Usually 5 meteors per hour can be observed in the maximum of the alpha monocerotides. However, in 1925, 1935, 1985 and 1995 increased activity of several hundred meteors per hour was sighted.
