Altbierbowle

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Altbierbowle is a mixed drink made from top-fermented, dark brown Altbier , fruit syrup and fruits . Raspberries and strawberries are traditionally used , but in many places simply mixed canned fruits are used.

Since Altbier is brewed and drunk in the northern Lower Rhine and in the east bordering Westphalia , the origin of this drink is also this region. Some types of Altbier are delivered to cities in other regions, and there, too, Altbierbowle is offered in pubs. On the southern Lower Rhine, the also top-fermented , light yellow Kölsch is usually served . The use of this beer as a punch is unusual in this directly neighboring region.

variants

Bock beer punch is also available in some pubs. The Altbier is replaced by Bock beer. The other ingredients are the same.
